A travelogue presentation by Bill Slade on a trip to South Africa and Zimbabwe in 2017.

Bill travelled with seven companions to South Africa.  On day one in Cape Town they took the ferry to Robben Island, 4.3 km off shore where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison. On the return trip their ferry, caught in a gale, floundered 1 km off Robben Island in very cold, shark infested waters.  Rescued by the South African National Sea Rescue, what do you do on day two?  Go shark diving!

The trip took them from the Cape of Good Hope to Johannesburg then to Kruger National Park and Karongwe Private Game Reserve, back to Johannesburg and then to Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls.

A video and talk about the trip with endless twists and turns.  Photo’s and video clips of the ferry sinking, Cape Town, Stellenboch, Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Karongwe Private Game Reserve and Victoria Falls.  From the flowers of Kirstenbosch to the animals of Kruger and Karongwe to a BOMA dinner in Victoria Falls.
