Current Artist – Pamela Allen
Pamela Allen received her B.F.A. from Queen’s University in 1982 and has taught in the Fine Art Department at Queen’s both on campus and as an instructor in the Far North through the Aboriginal Teachers Education Program (ATEP). In addition, she has received nine Artist in the Schools Grants from the Ontario Arts Council through which she has gained much experience and inspiration teaching young children. Since 2002, she has been leading workshops for fabric art in the U.S. and Canada and has traveled to South Africa to teach as well.
Pamela is a textile artist in Kingston, Ontario and has been pursuing her art full time since then. An award winning fiber artist, she exhibits nationally and internationally. Some shows include the IQA Festival, Houston Texas, the Canadian National Quilt Festival, and recently at the Internationl Exhibition in Taiwan. Pamela has also been published in several national magazines and was included in the Larkbook publication The Masters: Art Quilts in 2008. She’s also made a popular instructional DVD entitled Think Like an Artist.
